Southwest
Low Vision specializes in helping persons with everyday life tasks -
for those with mild, moderate or severe vision loss.
These professional services, called low vision services or visual rehabilitation,
use many strategies and devices to help a person maintain independence
and continue a good quality of life despite vision loss. Southwest Low
Vision has an extensive range of low vision solutions, from simple magnifying
glasses and reading lamps, to the latest high tech video magnifier reading
and writing systems. New high tech solutions now also include computer
scanning, magnification and reading systems.
Southwest Low Vision takes the time needed to evaluate, assess and recommend
the devices and training needed for each person's success. We specialize in helping legally blind people with eye diseases, select the aids the need for their particular level of vision, and matching their equipment also to the activities they desire to continue to do or to resume, and to help with their everyday life tasks!
Southwest Low Vision also provides counseling and referrals for people
affected by vision loss and their families. Referrals can be made to
appropriate eye care professionals, state rehabilitation and educational
services, veteran's services, library services and many national resources
and organizations who serve persons who are visually impaired. Updated
resources and information articles can be found on our site by clicking
